REGULATION 4 VAC 20-1130-10 Et Seq. and
Section 28.2-603.2 of the Code of Virginia provide an opportunity for public
comment on proposals to place protective shellfish enclosures on leased ground. The following notices are posted by date; the
comment period for each notice is as is specified below for each individual
siting notice. Please check with The Fisheries Division at
(757) 247-2248 to verify when a specific comment period ends.
June 23, 2014: Mr. R. David Smith of The Daily Oyster Company has notified the Virginia Marine Resources Commission of his intent to temporarily place up to 500 protective aquaculture enclosures per acre for cultivating DR triploids oysters on 24.16 acres of leased ground, in the Bay Tree Creek, York County.
