Any persons seeking to sell or purchase an oyster planting ground lease are responsible for their own terms and conditions. The VMRC will not participate in any negotiations between the two parties.
The physical transfer of any lease must be approved by the Marine Resources Commission by means of submittal of an application for transfer oyster planting ground that can be obtained from VMRC or directly from the internet at
http://www.mrc.virginia.gov/forms/index.shtm#Oyster Ground Leasing. The current year lease rent must be paid in order to transfer an oyster planting ground lease. The administrative cost to transfer leases is provided on the transfer form.
