In accordance with §;28.2-209 of the Code of Virginia, a public hearing on the adoption of this regulation will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 27, 1997 at the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, 2600 Washington Avenue, Newport News. Written comments on the proposals should be sent to Jack Travelstead, VMRC Fisheries Management Division, P. O. Box 756, Newport News, VA 23607. Summary:
The Virginia Marine Resources Commission, acting under the authority of §;28.2-819 of the Code of Virginia, proposes to establish the following locations for the loading and unloading, ashore, of shellfish taken from condemned areas.
For Clams:
1. F.D. Amory in Hampton
2. Hunt Oil Dock in Hampton
3. Jones Marina in Hampton
4. Sea Rich, Inc. in Newport News
5. Old Point Packing in Newport News
6. Casey Seafood in Newport News
7. Lynnhaven Waterway Marina in Virginia Beach
For Oysters:
1. Bevans Oyster Company in Kinsale
2. State Dock in Gloucester County
3. Tylers Beach in Rushmere
4. Back River Seafood in Rescue
The Commission further proposes to authorize the Commissioner
of Marine Resources to establish additional sites or to replace
inactive sites as the need arises.
