December 12, 2011: The Virginia Marine Resources Commission invites public comment on a proposal of Andrew J. Sturgis of Belle Haven to license and locate four pound nets in the Chesapeake Bay as follows:
The first net is to be located approximately 0.3 miles Northwest of Powells Bluff and approximately 0.6 miles North of Daymarker #7 at the entrance to Occohannock Creek.
Length of the net will be about 834 feet. The offshore end of the net is to be located at Latitude 37

Sturgis of Belle Haven, Virginia has applied to the Marine Resources Commission to license and locate a pound net in Chesapeake Bay in Accomac County, approximately 0.9 miles north of the channel entering Occohannock Creek and approximately 700 feet west of the shoreline that is just north of Powells Bluff. The offshore end of the pound net is proposed to be located at Latitude N 37 Degrees 33 Minutes 40.80 Seconds and Longitude W 75 Degrees 56 Minutes 47.04 Seconds .
