The following notices are posted by date; the comment period for each specific notice ends approximately 30 days from the date posted on this web site. Note: There is a regulatory cap on the number of pound nets that are allowed in Chesapeake Bay and parts of Virginia's tidal rivers (REGULATION 4 VAC 20-600-10 ET SEQ, "LIMITS THE SALE OF POUND NET LICENSES"). The cap in the affected area is 161 pound nets. Click on the pound net cap report to see if any nets are likely available; nets available under cap is dependent on licenses sold, licenses authorized for sale, and net locations advertised for public review and will change with time. Use the pound net cap report as a guideline and consult with the Marine Police District Officer in your geographical area to decide whether to submit an application for a pound net license.
