Elizabeth River Park Fishing Pier

Background:

The Elizabeth River Fishing Pier project was completed in 2004.  The project received $129,000 in grant funds from the VSRFDF.  The 125 ft. pier is part of the Elizabeth River Boat Landing and Park and runs parallel to the foot of the Jordan Bridge in Chesapeake.  Centrally located to Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach and Norfolk, this facility gives access to the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River.  The park already had multiple parking areas, a double wide boat ramp with docks and large picnic shelter.  The boating piers/ramp do not allow fishing or crabbing.  Use the new ADA compliant fishing pier for all recreational fishing and crabbing activities. An individual Saltwater Recreational Fishing License is required at this facility.

Directions:

This facility is located on the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake, VA

From I-64 or I-264, take I-464. Take the Poindexter St. west exit (Exit # 4) and go about 1/4 mile to Elizabeth River Way. The entrance to the Park will be immediately to the left side after you cross the train tracks.
